About

The Department of Pharmacy is providing 24-hour services for the benefit of the patients and staff members of the hospital. This department ensures the timely availability of drugs and surgical for catering the pharmaceutical needs of the patients. The department is divided into various sub-departments such as inpatient pharmacy, outpatient pharmacy, Chemo daycare pharmacy, Drugs and Surgical stores. The department processes medication orders, dispenses medications and provides counselling to patients. The Pharmacy department reports adverse drug reactions to the PvPI, Govt. of India and ensures patient safety. The Pharmacy department conducts a week-long patient education program about the safe use of medications and also displays cancer awareness posters every year in the month of September. The vision of the Pharmacy department is to procure and issue quality pharmaceutical products at affordable prices to the patients and to ensure medication safety.

The Department of Pharmacy is providing 24x7 dispensary services to MPMMCC/HBCH for the benefit of the Patients and staff members. The following services are provided by the Department of Pharmacy.
  1. In and Out Patient Pharmacy services
  2. Day Care Oncology Pharmacy Services (Preparation of IV admixtures)
  3. Procurement of Drugs, Vaccines, Surgical instruments, and consumables
  4. Procurement of CSSD items
  5. Local Purchase of Medicines for the employees of MPMMCC/HBCH
  6. Procurement of Narcotics
  7. ADR Monitoring and Pharmacovigilance services

ADR Monitoring & Pharmacovigilance

To ensure patient safety,department has initiated the ADR (Adverse Drugs reaction) monitoring program and MPMMCC has been recognized as an ADR Monitoring Center under the Pharmacovigilance Program of India, Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission, Govt of India. The ADR reports received from various departments will be analyzed by the Causality Assessment Committee and the UMC scale will be given for each report. After the evaluation of the committee, the report will be uploaded to the Vigiflow portal, Uppsala Monitoring Center, WHO, Sweden.

Achievements:

  1. Authorized ADR Monitoring Centre under PvPI, IPC, Government of India. Organized Medication Awareness Program and Patient Education Program during 3rd week of September.
