About

The mandate of the Engineering department is to maintain and manage all the engineering related issues at MPMMCC & HBCH. This involves smooth functioning of the hospital infrastructure including Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) services, Medical Gas Pipe system, Heating Ventilating & Air Conditioning (HVAC), Telephone & Audio-Visual system, Public Address System, Fire Alarm System, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Pneumatic Tube System, Power, Water supply, and Elevators etc. The department ensured minimum breakdowns by taking timely action on preventive maintenance, upgrading the MEP utilities as per the needs of the hospital. Presently, our department consists 10 permanent engineering staff supported by 67 technicians/foreman.
Various construction projects like patient waiting area, facilitation centre, renovation of BMT wards, modification of labs was successfully completed by our department.

The services provided by the department include:

1. Project Monitoring, Coordination, execution of Minor Projects, Comprehensive Annual Maintenance of Engineering Services, Rate Contracts of Engineering Works.
2. Several modifications work as and when required by various user departments have been duly executed in time by the Engineering Dept. Also, the Annual Rate & maintenance contracts have been awarded by Engineering Dept. for the timely upkeep of services for smooth functioning of both the hospitals.
3. The Engineering department meticulously got executed the work of construction of Boys’ & Girls’ Hostel and Dharamshala for patients.
